Equine Assisted Pyschotherapy
AT AHIMSA THERAPEUTIC SERVICES
Healing Through Connection
Experience a collaborative, experiential approach to mental health in the presence of horses. Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) is a trauma-informed, ground-based mental health service that integrates the expertise of a licensed mental health professional, an Equine Specialist, and a carefully selected team of horses to support emotional healing, personal growth, and lasting change.

Unlike traditional office-based therapy, Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy provides opportunities to explore thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationship patterns through meaningful interactions with horses. As highly perceptive and responsive animals, horses offer immediate, nonjudgmental feedback that can help clients increase self-awareness, strengthen emotional regulation, improve communication, and develop healthier ways of relating to themselves and others.

Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy may benefit children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families navigating a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, grief and loss, eating disorders, substance use recovery, relationship challenges, life transitions, and other emotional or behavioral difficulties.
Services are facilitated by an EAGALA-certified Equine Specialist in partnership with a licensed mental health professional, creating a collaborative treatment experience tailored to each client's unique goals and needs.
